Panther Panchali was directed by Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray. He is the most renowned filmmaker to come from India and sought to change the way the world saw Indian cinema. He wanted to shift the image away from classic Bollywood musicals and ended up making a drama called Pather Panchali. The story is about a family struggling to find work and survive in their daily lives. It is a very sad watch, but it is worth it to explore different cinematic languages.
